If you’ve been shopping in town recently, you probably would’ve noticed that LA denim brand 7 For All Mankind has opened their first UK flagship store outside London, on New Cathedral Street neighbouring Zara, Reiss, Ted Baker, Lacoste and many other fabulous brands. I was very lucky to have the pleasure to be invited to their grand opening a few weeks ago!7FAM wasn’t a brand I was the most familiar with so I did a bit of studying up prior to the event… there was no excuse not to really, considering how easy Google’s made these things. It came as no surprise when I found some great history of the brand among A-listers like Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson and Miranda Kerr (who also modelled their A/W14 collections). To stay constantly innovative and a step ahead of the fashion curve, the brand is very devoted to researching in new fabrics and technological advances – which is reflected in their stunning new lines, Relaxed Skinny, 1984 Boyfriend and the mens’ Luxe Performance collection:
The store itself is aesthetically very pleasing. The fundamental materials used in the Manchester store decor, such as the marble stone, polished metal and wood collectively give a Mad Men-ish feel reminiscent of retro Californian homes. This is inspired by the influential American architect John Lautner, whose work in Southern California combined progressive engineering and humane design.
All the clothes looked incredible. Everything was very nice and cleanly displayed for shoppers’ convenience and ease of browsing.
In terms of menswear, they have a wide range of classic and modern jeans, varying in cuts, colours, shapes and sizes. There were definitely some outstanding pieces that I would love to own myself, namely the jackets! They were super amazing!!
Over all, I was really impressed by the store as a whole including the lovely staff. Make sure you have a look in 7 For All Mankind and give them a warm welcome to the Mancunian fashion and shopping scene next time you’re in town!
