OOTD: Denim on Denim, on Stripes… on Denim

The title is self-explanatory really: my OOTD is very very denim-focused, probably much more so than I ever imagined I was comfortable with but hey, I did it. And I survived.

Multiple-denim ensembles have always been frowned upon for some reason but frankly, I personally don’t see what the fuss is about… the world looked pretty darn good to me strutting down the street as a triple-denim wearer. I’d more than happy to increase the amount of it in my future looks, if these weren’t the only blue denim pieces in my wardrobe.

This Adrexx jacket was a lucky find in the street of Alicante during my visit this past April. I’d always wanted a slim fit denim jacket. I’d tried every high street brands in the UK but they were either not as fitting as I would’ve preferred, too branded (I despise visible brand names on clothes) or just not at the right price. This one found in an unlikely shop around the corner from where I was staying with my friends had a very classic look and the perfect cut for my figure so I snatched it off the rail without thinking twice. And it cost no more than £25 – simply the icing on the baked Spanish cheesecake!! For this look, I layered it on top of the pale denim shirt and skinnies. Both Topman. Both bagged from the sale at bargainous prices – just a little over £30 for both items. The H&M black and white striped tee is also a sale find for a tenner. Simple striped tees are a great way to elevate your otherwise plain looks with additional dimension.

The limited edition hi-top Converse were self-gifted as a treat for my first full-time job paycheck. They are the only items of clothing I brought over from Malaysia almost 6 years ago that are still in wearable condition. The unique double upper design really appealed to me at the time but then I underwent a phase where I sort of outgrew my trainers years and evolved into the leather shoes person that I am today but I thought they suited this urban-ish look extremely well.

A special mention must be made to the talented Leanda Heler. Check out her stuff here. The feel of her photography captivated me at the very first glance and I couldn’t be happier with how well the shoot turned out!!

Btw we shot two looks… 😉

Love, Oliver

I love the layers you have here Oliver. I tend to think that denim on denim (on denim) works well when the shades of denim are varied. Love how you layered on top of stripes plus the converse
