No, it’s not a Michael Jackson’s Thriller costume and no, this is not a late Halloween post… It is, in fact, one of the amazing vintage items you can find in Cat Called Esteban’s online boutique here.
Cat Called Esteban Vintage is based fairly locally to me in Stockport and it runs on eBay, so anyone can shop from them. They have a great selection of vintage mens and womenswear. You can find anything from military parkas to Harris Tweed jackets at great affordable prices with free delivery too, or Click & Collect if you prefer. I don’t.
Jacket: Brandless with German labels from Cat Called Esteban Vintage* | Tee: Topman (similar) | Shirt: H&M | Skinnies: Topman | Boots: San Marina
Who says autumn dressing has to be dark and boring? This is the perfect jacket for the agonising transition into winter. It shields me from the bitter wind and the bold colour is exactly what I need to pump up my overly monotonous wardrobe. It always attracts a few looks whenever I wear it out and I’ve received quite a number of compliments for it, so yeah, I like it. 😉
I assembled the outfit around the jacket and how it’d work in the look so immediately I knew I needed an extra dash of lipstick red. My first choice was this H&M shirt that I bought during one of my earliest shopping trips to Oxford Street, London. I layered them on top of a basic Topman long sleeve tee. Oliver’s Styling 101: A plain undershirt always provides an easy, clean canvas to build your outfit on. Indeed, when in doubt, I always start with a simple top and work from there.
These skinnies, from Topman‘s spray on range are the perfect tightness for me but I must point out that they’re too low-waist for my liking… I’m not a big fan of sagging on anyone but I do like the nice slightly worn-out tint that really complements the almost ‘biker’ kind of chic.
For footwear, I toughened the look even more with these San Marina leather boots I bought in Paris a little over a month ago. It was their first outing and they’re so comfy!! I can see them being featured in a lot of future looks.
