Apologies for not updating my blog and my other social media accounts as regularly as I would have liked in the last couple of weeks! My recent acquisition of a new, full-time job means that I’ve had to make minor adjustments to my usual hour arrangement and pretty much adopt a new lifestyle in most aspects.

Don’t mistake this for ranting. I’m in fact embracing all of the changes with this outfit – in apparel form, the perfect representation for the stage I’m going through at the moment.
One item, two shades. Two contrasting shades that meet to create a happy, harmonious medium.
Jacket: ZARA | Top: H&M | Skinnies & Socks: Topman | Belt: ASOS | Brogues: Jasper Conran | Tote: French Connection
My new job has forced me into the healthy habit of going to bed and rising earlier. Though I wouldn’t have labelled myself a night owl, there was no doubt that I worked best at night time when I found myself my clearest and calmest, without all the daytime hustle and bustle that city living could bring. So to maximise productivity, I would often stay up until late to get as much out of me as possible… Now that I’m a part of the buzz, I’m able to let my mind work at what I’d call a nine to five pace. And I can enjoy my chill time in the evening, rest when I ought to.
This ZARA bomber with contrasting sleeves featured in my April Best Buys video (watch here) is as much a hit as I knew it was when I made the purchase. It shields the wind well and the look can so easily be made either smart or casual, or both – perfect for my style.
I underlayered it here with a gifted H&M top as the black stripes against the off-white picked up the darker shade of the jacket sleeves really beautifully. The French Connection leather shopping bag that I christened Tobey, the Tote Bag is another prezzie, from Christmas all those months ago (where’s the time gone??!) and perhaps one of the my favourite wardrobe staples these days. It’s super handy as it can envelop my trusted DSLR and a kitchen sink, so it comes wherever I go.The socks, were simply a novel idea that I feel has turned out well – it serves the purpose of emphasising two co-existing extremes in a single entity, much like my life in between phases.
Once I’m fully settled into my new schedule, I promise I’ll make time for creating blog posts more efficiently. In the meantime, I want you to take comfort from the knowledge that I am in the middle of some big plans that will all be revealed soon…I know I have hyped my previous projects before but Suede & Symphony has never been involved in something this big so please do keep your eyes peeled!!
Special thanks go to my fellow blogger Laura from Fashioneatstar, who was kind enough to take an hour out of her revision time to capture these lovely images so shout out to the fabulous Ms. Ngiam!!
