Yeah… yeah… I need no anti-Black Friday extremists to remind me that there is absolutely no reason for Britain to take part in this Stateside shopping tradition but as a savvy shopaholic, I’m all for the deals and discounts!
The party kicked off yesterday over at ASOS with the discount code CYBER, which takes 20% off everything. Yes, every-single-thing. Even those already reduced in prices, which means double-discount! Naturally, I scoured the entire clearance outlet and found some of the most wearable, on-trend menswear items according to what we’ve seen at London Collections: Men A/W15.
First of all, tartans and stripes are proving to be this season’s most dominant patterns –
YMC, the fashion house responsible for the prison stripe trend also gives us this medium-weight bomber that would layer nicely under a heavier coat for the much needed coziness and warmth.
It will also see you through to Spring/Summer when you’ll appreciate a lighter jacket.
Keeping the milder months in mind, I suggest adding these mesh-infused jackets to your transitional collection as they are not only great practical pieces but mesh’s newfound functionality also means you’ll stay one step ahead of the game.
To balance out the boldness of the fabric, tone the hue down to the subtlest possible.
Speaking of colours, camel is a trend almost synonymous to winter dressing – classically tailored or modern adaptation, it’s no different this season.
Apart from the traditional earthy hues, bold colours like orange and pink are also hot this winter as seen on the catwalks by Katie Eary and Sibling. Understandably, this trend is not for everyone but I say don’t let the winter chills put you off the idea! Here are some ideas to help ease yourself into wearing brights come this winter:
Sadly, skinny sihoulette has had its run in the menswear game. This A/W, it’s all about looser fits and these slouchy cropped trousers would make a great alternative to your smart suits:
What? These bottoms don’t match your existing wardrobe? Worry not, as far as A/W15 is concerned, it’s acceptable to mix-and-match your tailorings. Above is just one way to go about tackling this trend – the trick to pull it off is to keep the ensemble clean, easy on the eye and not overly clashy. For more styling inspo, look no further than Ede & Ravenscroft and Hackett.
However, if like me, you’re reluctant to retire the skinnies, try these black tapered trousers that will give you both shape and comfort.
Even though it goes against everything I’ve just said with regards to this season’s vibrant colour palette, #allblackeverything is still very much a thing as Alexander McQueen and Lou Dalton dictate.
As mentioned in one of my previous outfit post (here), shearling and all things 70s are going strong! Designers like Margaret Howell and Richard James have all looked to this decade for inspo and so should you. As tempting as it is to go all out 70s though, simply wear it over a plain polo neck and you’re good to go!
Talk about style and substance, eh?
Obviously there are a lot more than 15 things in the clearance but these are my personal picks to inspire and help you narrow down the options to only the trendiest as well as get the most out of your hard earned cash. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or treating a loved one, I hope this list has shortened the process of ticking all those filter boxes and looking through hundreds of thousands of images that wee bit. 😉
Finally, don’t forget to use the code CYBER for additional 20% off everything – offer ends 8am on the 1st of December so you still have the entire weekend and more to shop! So grab yourself a bargain or 15 now!!
