#OliverxTopman // Part One

In this festive season, Topman and I have teamed up to present the trends to watch out for if you’re looking to transition through the day from catching up with your besties over a brew to a night out in a cocktail bar having a drink or two.

#Know How to Party!

My friends over at Topman have handpicked three major Christmas party trends (check out the feature) that you can mix and match for to wear from day to night: the three trends are tailored bomber, checked blazer and printed shirt.

All that’s left for me to do, as a chosen style blogger, is to put these trends to the test and demonstrate how you can achieve the maximum wearability of these selected pieces, available at your local Topman store and online.

#The Tailored Bomber

day002Bomber: Topman* | Jumper: H&M | Skinnies: Topman | Trainers: Florsheim

The main element of this outfit is obviously the Topman tailored bomber in beautiful jersey – the ‘hero‘ piece I’ve picked from the three ranges to feature in my daytime look (evening look to follow in my next outfit post).

My decision was influenced largely by the material that gives this timeless wardrobe staple a great modern twist, and because of which can easily be worn casually as well as smartened up for more formal occasions… You know a savvy shopaholic like myself, I’m all about the versatility and how many trillion different looks I could churn out of one item~

#Comfortability Is Key

When I think about going out during the day in December, I think about casual meetups, coffee shops and Christmas shopping and all those Cs add up to one thing – comfort.

So I layer with this chunky H&M polo-neck jumper, which is not only comfy but also bang on trend as roll neck is one of the leading trends in menswear this A/W. I then accessorise with it to emphasise its colour-blocking nature, adding an extra dimension to a monochromic ensemble.

When it comes to styling up a bomber, you cannot go wrong with jeans and trainers. These black super spray-ons, also from Topman are my go-to black jeans because of the fit, the fact that #blackgoeswitheverything and again, comfortability – the no. 1 factor that all gents should consider when choosing the perfect pair of jeans.

Finally, I complete the look with these almost futuristic-looking Florsheim trainers in shiny patent leather for that sporty feel echoing the tailored bomber.

I love that bomber. I had a suede navy one just like that from Zara and it was my hero piece, but I forgot it after a wild night out, so now I’m on the lookout for a replacement!

Love the bomber (despite the fact if I had one that colour some kind of stain- probably red wine- would end up on it!) Love the cosy jumper underneath too! A very sophisticated look, which you’ve definitely put together perfectly :) Congrats on the collab with Topman x

Thanks so much for the comment, Emma!! I’m a super messy eater myself so I have to be extra careful too when I wear this out… :/

I’m so proud of you!! Ahh, loving how you put together these Topman pieces, I’m never a fan but you make the clothes look so good. And white is a stain magnet. For some reason, it happens only when you wear white.

That bomber jacket is great – my chap would love it. He could cope with the colour. Me I’m really clumsy so have nothing white – I’m a stain magnet. Well done for the collaboration with top shop
    Love bec xx

I can just about cope with the colour but I wouldn’t dare staining it… it’s just too gorgeous for all that mess. lol
