#OliverxTopman // Part Two

Topman has always been one of my fav go-to high street stores for smart and on trend pieces. When it comes to the cut and fit, they’re arguably second-to-none. Last week, I revealed my two-part collaboration with Topman (read Part One) where I took on the challenge to style a party ‘hero’ piece in both daytime and evening look. Here, I present to you the followup.

#Know How to Party

night004

If you haven’t seen my previous post, #knowhowtoparty is Topman’s campaign that I’m apart of to promote their featured party trends handpicked by insiders: tailored bombers, checked blazers and printed shirts (read more). It is a concept to help find yourself that one item to see you through the entire day during this festive season and stay ahead of the style game.

#How I Wear It

For my evening look, I’m combining two of my fav trends from the #knowhowtoparty campaign – the printed shirt for added dimension and of course, the beautiful bomber.

In my day look, I went for a more casual, monochromatic approach with a roll neck jumper paired with my staple black skinnies and trainers. In contrast, this outfit is perfect for the Christmas do, NYE dinner party or generally hanging out with your friends after work. With that in mind, everything is kept super classy including the timeless turtle neck that is making a huge comeback into menswear, but still contemporary with the modern tailored, skinny fit all over.

In terms of the colour palette, I like to maintain a certain versatility by keeping the overall tone neutral so it’s fitting for any occasions and locations… you know, in case of plan change. Lift it up with a dash of excitement in the varying shades of earthiness.

#The Fit is Everything

Whilst my day look was all about the comfortability and coziness that come with trainers and thick knitwear, the structure is key in my evening interpretation of this bomber jacket.

Bodycon is no longer a prerogative of the ladies! So be mindful of shopping true to your size if you’re still on the hunt for your very own ‘hero’ piece… Yes, you still have time!! For inspiration on the best body-hugging pieces around, have a look in Topman’s suit category (shop now!)

I hope you’ve found my day and evening guide to styling a party piece helpful and thanks again to Topman for the collaboration. Don’t forget to connect with me on Twitter and Instagram @oliverinstead – see you there!! 😉
