First Impressions: Crep Protect

Words & Photo: @oliverinstead

This past Friday, I got to experience the Russell Howard: Round the World gig at Manchester Arena thanks to scotts Menswear, who very generously put out a spread in our own Prime Suite with a private balcony and open bar and everything… but that’s not all : the scotts team also gifted me with a range of Crep Protect products, so now I’ll spill all my initial thoughts!

In the pic : Shoe cleaning kit • Shoe cleaning wipes • Rain and stain resistant barrier • Shoe freshener pill

Upon unpacking the goodies, it immediately struck my eyeballs how neat the packaging is. Considering how well the photo has turned out, I cannot fault the aesthetics in any way. It looks really good. Although, a brand only needs to make black their primary colour scheme and they’ll have a satisfied consumer in me…

That said tho’, I really do enjoy the contrasting yellow in the details that straight up reminds me of the costumes in X-Men: The Last Stand. Translation : I approve.

As a self-proclaimed fashionista and globetrotter, I pretty much have home shoecare remedies down to a science – receipts can be found in my travel shoecare hacks post. Admittedly, I sometimes improvise whilst on the go but it’s always nice to have a few tools handy… especially with the amount of spot cleaning I do. So first thing I look for in these items is portability:

Two things are worth noting here – one The cleaning kit includes a bottle of shoe cleaner that comes in a 100ml container, which in my head reads “safe to pack in a carry-on luggage” two The wipes are individually packaged – a big plus as this can prevent the cloth from drying out and thus prolong its shelf life.

To sum up, packaging & portability : Checked. Both of ’em.

So far so good… but in order to give a full honest verdict, I must first put these items to test, which I will be sure to do on my next trip so stay tuned for a follow-up review once I have tried them all out.

What do you think? How do you like the look of Crep Protect? Have you used their products before? If not, will you give ’em a try next time your creps need a little TLC? Either way, share all your thoughts below!! x

Don’t forget, you can now shop all the products you see in this post from scotts Menswear here.
