Where do I find inspiration for my style? Historically, I would have to consult female magazines like Vogue, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar as I’ve always found them generally more informative and accessible.

But times have changed, male fashion is now considered just as big a deal as its counterpart. The new digital age has introduced me to a whole new load of e-resources I can turn to when I need a doze of mens style inspo.
One of my favourite go-to sites is Fashion Beans. I love it for a number of reasons. As an aspiring writer, I enjoy the well-written style posts laden with wonderful wit that makes for much pleasant reads as well as a welcome change from the serious articles found in the pages of established publications. Besides styling advice that will help you stand out in the crowd and stay the most stylish man around, they also provide helpful shopping tips like where to find the best quality on-trend items for less – perfect for fashion savvy readers on a budget.

What’s even better for all us thrifty shoppers is the Discount Codes section, which I have yet to try out but it’s definitely one to make use of wisely.
I must also make a special mention to this fabulous video that innovatively sums up how men have been dressing over the decades and how our style has evolved in the last 100 years:
Whether it’s the early 1900s’ sharp tailoring or the sass and flamboyance of the 70s, there is always something I can relate to throughout the ages. Though I never claim to be a dapper per se, I definitely draw inspiration from all fashions, which has resulted in this outfit that I’d describe as very ‘me‘ indeed. Under the bold colours and patterns, I try to keep things relatively classic with the smart blazer and tailored bottoms. Whereas through the styling, i.e. the pushed-up sleeves, rolled-up hems, sockless look and tucked-out shirt, I give it a casual edge that I feel is the core of my style, the basis I build my outfits upon.
Finally, the website also houses an extensive archive of current street style – also my favourite part of the website. The part I wish to be on someday. These images have been captured and carefully compiled by the dedicated team of FB. In it you can find pretty much any trendy style, be it androgyny or alternative, boho or biker, you’re free to immerse yourself in the collection and soak in all the awesomeness from the best dudes in the mens style game.
In short, Fashion Beans has everything a man could need to keep up with trends and perfect his personal style under one roof, what’s not to love?
