I had always been too naive to thoroughly comprehend the notion of love at first sight until the moment I caught sight of Teddy… or, in non-Shakespearean modern day words, this fluffy Topman bomber totally had me at hello!!
#I Went to Spain, Again
Last month, myself with my patatas bravas went and visited our friends who currently reside in Madrid, where this shoot took place. I admit I did take my time with sharing these pictures and I’m well aware that the present English weather no longer permits the luxury that is ripped jeans and t-shirt but one can dream and I like to think that this outfit gives us all something to look forward to in these darker days.
#The Key Pieces
This ensemble was put together based around the glorious embossed bomber jacket in luscious toffee brown (now half price!) Since it’s such a statement piece, I kept everything else clean and simple, dotted with details – GAP make the best basics out there so naturally, they’re the no. 1 high street store I consult when it comes to a plain white tee.
Bottoms-wise, I picked these ASOS ripped blue jeans in super skinny fit that are actually very stretchy and will not retrict you from a day of walking. Plus the ott rips provide air and much-needed ventilation, an aspect most skinnies fail me. Finally, no fashion-savvy tourist looks would be complete without my staple handcrafted loafers by H by Hudson that instantly elevate any casual outfits.
#A Fash Enthusiast’s Travel Tips
In the past few years of travelling, I’ve come to appreciate the significance of a watch. So to accessorise, I wore my eye catching Mondaine still set in UK time because I never know for certain if my gadgets have acclimatised to the local timezone – I need something to compare the time to. In cases where I haven’t travelled far, sometimes a small part of me likes to remain in my usual timezone so I can retain my bodyclock as closely as possible.
Even though aesthetically the bomber is beautiful, what’s not so pretty is when after a long day of sightseeing, you sit down in a tapas bar, chill, swing your white adidas backpack off your back only to find the shoulder straps absolutely covered in auburn fur. (Based on real events…)
Solution? Clothes brush. Regardless, you should always keep one handy with you anyway. It adds absolutely no weight to your belongings especially in this roomy bag and you’ll have so much to gain in such hairy situations… literally!!
Is beautiful. The atmosphere is lively and the locals are as friendly as you’d expect anywhere in Spain. But, whichever legend claimed that the rain in Spain stayed mainly in the plain clearly lied (not that I ever believed it) as the weather we experienced there was not unlike the UK’s. I had my brolly looped around my wrist on standby at all times, making me feel very much at home indeed, but not in a good way. All in all, it was a brilliant trip, thoroughly worth the visit and I look forward to returning to the Spanish capital… when the sun shines. 😉
