Natural Makeup for Men : My Three Key Components

Words: Yours truly • Photos: David

Ok, here’s a quick preface: I know this is a bit of a taboo subject for men but it really doesn’t have to be… I mean, it’s 2020!! With the rising popularisation of male beauty YouTubers like James Charles, Edward Avila, etc.; gender-neutral cosmetics or even cosmetics designed purely for men; and RuPaul’s Drag Race (though that’s not the vibe we’re going for here!), we all know that men wear makeup – fact. It’s just a reality that’s not going away, and it’s not that big a deal either.

Do you think male actors and celebrities appear on screen or red carpets without at least a few dabs of concealer here and there? No. In fact, almost never. It’s just that the makeup is so subtle you hardly ever notice it – unless you see them barefaced, then it’s a whole ’nother story! – and that’s the type of ‘makeup’ I want to talk about in this post.

Whatever your gender, if you’d like to learn more about what I do to achieve a natural ‘no-makeup’ makeup look, then keep reading. Continue Reading

A Winter Break in Cyprus : Three Things You Must Do

Words: Yours truly • Photos: David • Location: Paphos Archaeological Park

Earlier this month, we took a nearly-five-hour flight all the way to Cyprus (because there are few things we wouldn’t do to chase a bit of winter sun), and despite December being the off season, it was an excitingly eye-opening trip!

Prior to booking this trip in April, I honestly had very little knowledge about Cyprus apart from that absolute banger of a Eurovision entry in 2018 #justiceforfuegostill but throughout our four-night visit, I picked up a few tips that I think everyone should know if they ever find themself on this beautifully rustic Mediterranean island.

North Coast 500, Scotland : 5 Stop Points You Need to Know

Words: Yours truly • Photos: David • Location: Tongue, Scottish Highlands

For my birthday this year, David and I decided to tick one more item off our bucket list: Drive around the North Coast 500 in Scotland.

What’s the North Coast 500, you ask?

North Coast 500 (or simply NC500) is a 500-mile long route of stunning seaside scenery in the far north of Scotland. It’s nicknamed ‘Scotland’s Route 66’; it’s widely known as one of the top coastal road trips in the world; in fact, it’s been tipped as “the Best Road Trip in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler… you get the picture!

If you’re planning to take on the route, if you need some help planning the most epic road trip you’ll ever take in Europe, keep on reading because here are five stop points that I think you should check out along the way, plus a few tips we’ve gathered from the locals to help you make the most of your trip. 5 WH Questions & Answers About : Seville, Spain

Words: Yours truly • Photos: David • Location: Metropol Parasol

It’s nuts to think that it’s only been a month since I was in Seville. It seems like a lifetime ago we were wandering and getting lost in the Sevillean streets yet I can almost still feel that Spanish sun beaming on my face…

As I’m gearing up to embark on yet another big birthday adventure (I went to Lisbon for my birthday last year – read about it!), which I no doubt will want to share about, I thought I’d better get my shit act together and start blogging again… and this time I’ll keep my promise. I promise.

So here you go, F I V E things you should know about Seville if you’re planning on visiting:

Group Trips : 5 Steps to Organising the Perfect Getaway with Friends

Words: Yours truly • Photos: David • Location: Oslo Opera House

(This one is coming to you a little bit later than I would’ve liked but better late than never, right? Right.)

About 10 days before D and I took off to Asia, we went on a little Bank Holiday trip with two of our dear friends, Asma and Mo of Jet Set Chick fame. We went to Norway, stayed in a beautiful Airbnb on the island of Tjøme, and had a brilliant time.

Now we rarely ever go on holidays with friends. We might have gone on holidays ‘to see friends’ but not often ‘with friends’, and from this trip, I picked up a few tips and tricks to organising a getaway with a group of people – and here they are. Continue Reading
